Overview
R2-B1 is a fictional astromech droid from the Star Wars universe. He appears in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace as one of the Naboo royal starships' support droids. R2-B1 serves in a technical and maintenance role, helping keep spacecraft systems operational during critical missions. Unlike more central droids such as R2-D2, R2-B1 has a brief but memorable appearance, representing the many service droids that support the larger events of the saga.
