Hannin (犯人), literally meaning 'criminal' or 'culprit', is a recurring character type in the anime and manga series Meitantei Conan (Detective Conan). Hannin appears as the mysterious, often shadowy figure responsible for committing the various crimes and murders that protagonist Conan Edogawa investigates. The true identity of each Hannin is typically revealed at the end of each case. Hannin is famous for their all-black, featureless appearance, symbolizing their anonymity until the case is solved.
